Temporomandibular disorders (TMD)

TMD/TMJ related jaw pain, clenching, and headaches can significantly affect daily life. At Eagle Creek Medical Clinic, we offer therapeutic Botox injections to help manage TMJ symptoms and TMD (temporomandibular disorders) by reducing muscle overactivity and easing pain in a safe, medical environment.

How Therapeutic Botox helps:

Therapeutic Botox is used to relax the overactive jaw muscles

  • Decrease jaw pain and tension
  • Reduce clenching and grinding
  • Improve jaw mobility
  • Lower the frequency of TMJ‑related headaches
  • Protect teeth from clenching‑related wear

What to expect during your treatment:

Dr. Ahmed will review your symptoms, examine your jaw muscles, and determine whether TMJ/TMD Botox is appropriate. A personalized injection plan is created based on your muscle pattern and symptom severity. Small amounts of Botox are injected into targeted muscles such as the masseter, temporalis, or lateral pterygoid. The procedure typically takes 10–20 minutes.

Fees and Insurance Coverage

TMJ/TMD Botox is often considered therapeutic, but coverage varies by insurer and plan. Some patients may receive partial reimbursement through extended health benefits. Our team provides detailed receipts and supporting documentation for insurance submission. Treatment fees will be reviewed before your appointment.
