Trained in Calgary and Kingston, Dr. Ward returns to his hometown of Victoria where he operates a full-time family practice. His clinic interests are in complex care and geriatric medicine. He is the Medical Director of Eagle Creek, Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Family Medicine, University of British Columbia, and a member of the Executive for the Victoria Medical Society. He also currently runs and operates the Victoria Botox® Clinic.
Dr. Simcoff has enjoyed practicing family medicine including maternity care for over 16 years. He completed his medical degree and residency at the University of Manitoba. He practiced in Selkirk, Manitoba before moving to Victoria in 2008. In his spare time, Dr. Simcoff loves spending time with his family, kayaking, and enjoying the great outdoors.
Dr. Elnagmy enjoys working as a family physician with a special interest in chronic diseases and coming up with individual treatment plans for his patients to achieve the best outcome. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University in Egypt where he was born and raised. He completed his training and practiced full-scope family medicine in Qatar before moving to Victoria with his young family. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his family and traveling.
Rene is a Family Nurse Practitioner and completed her Master of Nursing degree in Alberta. She recently moved to Victoria from Calgary with her husband and young son. She is originally from South Africa and moved to Alberta in 2004. Before obtaining her Nurse Practitioner certification, she worked as a Registered Nurse in women’s health, the Emergency Department and HealthLink. She is looking forward to providing primary care for all ages but also has a special passion for women’s and maternity health.
Dr. Velikovsky was born and raised in Victoria. After completing medical school and residency in the US she returned home with her husband to start her full scope family medicine practice. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and has a special interest in chronic diseases and women’s health. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
Dr. Zabakolas was born and raised in New York. He completed medical school and residency in the US and practiced full scope family medicine there prior to moving to Victoria with his wife. He has a special interest in metabolic diseases and addressing them through lifestyle modification. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring Vancouver island with his family.
Dr. Turpin has been practicing in Victoria for the last 7 years. She operates a full-scope family practice at Eagle Creek Medical Clinic.
Courtney is a Family Nurse Practitioner and completed her Master of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner at the University of Victoria. Courtney is born and raised in Victoria, also completing her Bachelor of Science Nursing at the University of Victoria, but spent several years living in Vancouver. As a Registered Nurse, Courtney has worked at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Adult General Medicine & Oncology and at BC Children’s Hospital in Pediatric Specialty Medicine. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages to reach their goals of health. When she is not at the clinic, you can find Courtney enjoying the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Andrea Buchan graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science of Nursing. She spent many enjoyable years working on the Woman’s Health and Surgical unit at Victoria General Hospital and most recently she worked as a community health nurse. Andrea enjoys spending time in nature with her family and friends hiking, skiing and exploring the West Coast.
Originally from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Dr. Ahmed is finalizing his training through the UBC Family Medicine Program here in Victoria. He has a special interest in complex care geriatrics and mental health. In addition to his residency training, Dr. Ahmed has a Masters degree in Aging and Health from Queens University and has spent three years working in the department of psychiatry. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ahmed fosters and rehabilitates animals with various organizations.
Jeanette McCart graduated from the Vancouver General Hospital School of Nursing. Following graduation she returned to her home town in Northern BC and worked in a small community hospital where her nursing skills and critical thinking were quickly put to the test. After a few years, she returned to Vancouver to work in the Vancouver General Hospital critical care float pool and then Urology. Jeanette then once again, with her husband, returned to the north and worked as a Nursing Instructor in the Diploma Nursing Program at the College of New Caledonia and as a Casual Nurse in General Surgery at Prince George Regional Hospital. In 1994 Jeanette arrived in Victoria and has been a Clinic Manager and Director of Medical Operations with Walk In Clinics in Victoria and on the mainland. Jeanette has been at Eagle Creek Medical since the building stage in early 2016. She also has experience in travel immunizations and fertility medicine. In her spare time Jeanette loves to cook, work in her garden, travel and spend time with family and friends.
Originally from Ethiopia, Aziza received her Diploma in 2007 for Medical Administration Assistant in Calgary. She worked in a family physician office there for three years and subsequently moved to Victoria in 2010 and has worked in primary care clinics since this time.
